Written in Fall 2015, "Party Thoughts" finds Desh partying way too much as he tries to displace pressure he feels working a great day job that he knows he will eventually need to quit in favor of a riskier career in music. He also is struggling with a situation in which he is still too close and emotionally tied with his ex girlfriend. While he can't seem to leave the bar, he recognizes that he is wasting time there.
