Oh this one was fun. Heartland Song Network here in Kansas City had picked me as their artist of the month in June 2020. I took over their instagram for a day and thought it would be fun to create a song and document it via their story. At that very moment I was drinking templeton and coffee.

This song was meant to celebrate a low moment. I was mostly stuck at home and sad. I had been drinking too much, in the way that many musicians due, but this was another level. I was leaning on alcohol way too much. There's a celebratory darkness to this song that really choked my lyrics out. So I decided to play trombone on it, instead of doing a full verse.

Trevor Turla had been coming over to jam in the old basement, and he's a phenomenal person and trombonist. This felt like it was calling him by name, and fortunately, he agreed to lace it with his sexy trombone work.
